This page is devoted to provisional translations of Writings by the central figures of the Bahá’í Faith, Bahá’u’lláh, the Báb and ‘Abdu’l-Bahá. They mostly follow the guidance of provisional English translations that may be found on the Web, as specified in the various texts. Since the translated texts are very difficult and deep, and the translator is an amateur, these translations can be certainly improved and have a wholly personal value.

Hearken to the delightsome words of My honeyed tongue, and quaff the stream of mystic holiness from My sugar-shedding lips. Sow the seeds of My divine wisdom in the pure soil of thy heart, and water them with the water of certitude, that the hyacinths of My knowledge and wisdom may spring up fresh and green in the sacred city of thy heart.

…because of the increasing need for translation of specific material, particularly in relation to growing scholarly interest in the Faith and its various Teachings, favorable consideration has been given to allowing wider use of provisional translations. Individual believers, of course, remain free to translate into English any of the Holy Writings for their own use. Such translations may also be published in circulars and journals without review other than by the editors of such publications. They may also be shared electronically. In all such cases they should be clearly identified as “provisional translations.”
